THIS IS SHE
, welcome.
I am a Language and Communications graduate from the University of the Western Cape and currently enrolled at Rhodes University for a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Media Studies. After spending five years in Cape Town I was still unsure of the future, but knew that I was meant to be within the journalism and communications sphere. Fast forward to this year, and I couldn't be more comfortable as a future media practitioner.
I stand for visuals, aesthetics, detail and a representation of culture through digital and non-digital mediums: social media, blogs, exhibitions, festivals and websites. A detailed curatorship that educates and allows the expression of any idea or concept to the masses. Everyone deserves to experience good and lush adventure (in any capacity).
This year I have produced a solid body of work that has propelled me into starting my own website and blog that reviews all the screen time I have spent. In working at Grocott's Mail and becoming a student journalist, the practicality of it all creates a healthy ground for confidence and skill. Articulation and tone have become things to priorities now which in turn further enhances the perception of self.
I would say that my skill is telling stories, editing images and videos to look good
and evoke emotion with those viewing them.
The Adobe Suite has become my playground and and my time management further ameliorates. Growing up with the support and nurturing of my grandparents, mom and aunts in Port Elizabeth I hope to achieve the big dreams my little self was allowed to dream. I hope to become a media practitioner that is able to change conversations and translations of art and fashion in South Africa so that it may be more inclusive, celebrated and appreciated across provinces.
I hope to achieve and never become complaisant .
